"Cali 1" from the series Absentia

This image belongs to the series Cali, which is part of a larger project titled Absentia, which narrates a return journey throughout Latin America after residing as an immigrant citizen in Canada for over a decade. In this project, I work with the remains of private homes and with their corresponding blueprints, which suggest possible uses of these now-abandoned spaces.  This image is part of the photo-book Absentia, and was exhibited as part of Transamericas: a Sign, a Situation, a Concept, at the Museum London in London, Ontario in 2017; at the Flaxo Gallery in Quito, Ecuador in 2017; and at Hydra+Fotografía Gallery, Mexico City in 2019.
